Swedvasc – varicose vein registry in Sweden

New registry for varicose veins in Sweden
The Swedish National Registry for Vascular Surgery, Swedvasc, has existed since 1987, has a very good national coverage and has so far mainly focused om arterial disease. During the last years more venous interventions have been registered, and in the beginning of 2016 the venous part of Swedvasc was updated including a new registry for varicose veins. As varicose vein surgery is performed also in private practice, clinics that previously did not report to Swedvasc have now joined the registry, and more are to come. After the first six months more than 2000 venous procedures have been registered.
